Your building's cameras are only as trustworthy as what's inside them.

Most boards inherit a camera and access system nobody currently on the board actually chose. It works fine until someone needs footage from three weeks ago and finds out the recorder only keeps two, or a resident's fob stops working and nobody has the login to fix it. AION starts by auditing what's already there. Under GDPR, personal data can move freely within the EU and EEA, but sending it outside that zone requires specific legal safeguards, an adequacy decision or contractual clauses under GDPR Chapter V. Camera footage and door-access logs are exactly the kind of personal data that rule was written for, and residents' comings and goings are about as personal as it gets. If the building is running hardware from manufacturers like Dahua or Hikvision, we flag it, not as a brand preference but because where that footage ends up is genuinely unclear. UniFi hardware settles the question by default: recordings and access logs stay on the on-site NVR or gateway, inside the building, and nothing leaves unless the board deliberately turns on cloud backup. We replace what's there with a single UniFi-based system the board can see into directly.

Then AION stays. Firmware updates, camera health checks, and access logs get handled as an ongoing service, not a one-time invoice. When something breaks, it's a support call, not a rediscovery project for whoever's on the board that year.

As a side effect, it looks better too: one app, one login, hardware that doesn't turn the lobby into a shelf of mismatched boxes.
